  16. When Lloyd Colvin, W6KG, died last December, the League became the
  17. beneficiary of the proceeds of a life insurance policy.  The
  18. proceeds, more than 150,000, dollar(s) will now fund an endowment, the income
  19. from which will be used to further the strengthening of
  20. international friendship through DXing.

  22. ARRL Executive Vice President David Sumner, K1ZZ, said ''During his
  23. lifetime, W6KG made great personal contributions to international
  24. friendship through Amateur Radio in his visits to more than 150
  25. countries, with his wife Iris Colvin, W6QL.  Through the Colvin
  26. Award, the League will proudly continue those contributions.''

  28. Announcement of the Colvin Fund was made at the International DX
  29. Convention in Visalia, California, on April 16. Details of the
  30. administration of the endowment have not yet been worked out.
